This is an interesting pattern from MSQC in that the hourglasses are made with background fabric, the “frames” with 2 1/2” strips and strip sets form the overall pattern. It is fun to make and there are endless design possibilities. The final piece measures 68” x 77.5” Open to all levels

About the event

You will need:

A working sewing machine with a 1/4" foot

Rotary cutter

Ruler for cutting (stripology if you have one)

10" or larger square for trimming blocks

Also helpful but not necessary:

Rotating mat

Stiletto

Fabric:

1 jelly roll

1 yard of background fabric A

1 yard of background fabric B

1 1/4 yards of border fabric

Ticker Tape pattern - purchase vis Missouri Star

Also:

3/4 yards binding

4 3/4 yards backing or 2 1/2 yards of wide backing
