This mesh bag is great to take to the beach or the farmers market. It also makes a nice gift as the mesh is strong and the straps go all the way under the bag making the handles much stronger than most hand sewn bags. Make one for yourself, make more to give away!

About the event
Skills you will learn: sewing with mesh, using piping, wrapping handles and lining pockets.
The pattern has directions for four versions of the bag that vary in fabric/mesh ratio and size/pockets. We will be making version A in class. It has outer pockets that are lined and more fabric than mesh on the exterior.
You will need the following:
1/3 yard fabric for top strip
1/3 yard fabric for outside of pocket
1/3 yard fabric for lining of pocket
One package of maxi piping
One screen cut 21” x 32” (I have plenty of black available if you would like to use that color)
One package of extra wide double fold bias tape for side seams, color should match the screen to blend
3 1/2 yards of 1” belt material
marking pencil or chalk
Thread to match the screen and topstitch thread
If you would like a bottom support then you will also need 1/8 yard of fabric and foam core or other material (cross stitch vinyl) - 6” x 13”
For the Friday classes, bring snacks/water, I will have snacks available as well.
